fiddle books

I have written eleven fiddle books, including seven for Schott Music. Most are for the “Exploring” popular music series; Exploring Jazz Violin, Exploring Country and Bluegrass Fiddle, Exploring Folk Fiddle, and Exploring Klezmer Fiddle.

Each of these attempts to tell a detailed story of the history and background to the particular musical style, as well as teaching through practical examples the techniques required. Each book is filled with exercises and musical illustrations, as well as specially composed pieces. Most of the written music also appears as audio files. Discovering Rock Violin follows a similar model, while Beginning Jazz violin starts at a basic level (including a general introduction to the instrument and to music theory).

There are also two books from the World Music series; French Fiddle Tunes and Hungarian Fiddle Tunes.
